Harvey L. Davis, Sr. from Mappsville, Virginia, excelled in sports, earning a baseball scholarship at Norfolk State College after graduating from Parksley High School in 1972. He married Suzette Taylor Davis, has two children, and a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His diverse career includes roles as a Youth Counselor, Material Analyst, and 20 years of service in the United States Reserves/National Guard. Harvey's leadership journey led him from Housing and Zoning Coordinator to Club Youth Director for the Salvation Army. In 1998, he became the Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Atlantic, Virginia.
Harvey advocates for Kappa Alpha Psi's mission, emphasizing honorable achievement. After earning a Master of Divinity in 2016, he pursued a Doctorate in Preaching, completing it in May 2022 with a thesis on "Preaching to a Conflicted Church" at the Chicago Theological Seminary.
Since September 27, 2021, Harvey serves as a Hospice Chaplain with the Riverside Health Care Association in Accomack, Virginia. Despite personal challenges, he remains a steadfast advocate, offering prayers and ministering to those in transition.
