Midweek Teaching - Becoming Better At Believing In Me
What does it truly mean to believe in yourself — not out of pride or arrogance, but out of purpose? On October 19, 2025, Ebenezer Baptist Church gathered around a message that cut straight to the heart of self-doubt and divine identity. Grounding the sermon in Philippians 4:13 from the Easy Read Version — "Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do" — this word reminded us that too often we become our own worst critics, disqualifying ourselves from dreams, assignments, and blessings that God has already qualified us for.
The truth is simple but profound: the same God who made the stars, gave you breath, and continuously blesses, heals, and delivers you has placed greatness inside of you. God did not create you to doubt yourself. He created you to believe — in the power He put in you, and in His power working through you.
**Three Points from the Message:**
1. **Recognize what God put in you.** God never creates half-finished projects. He has already placed in you everything you need to do what He has called you to do. Stop comparing your gifts to someone else's. You have your own voice, your own gifting, your own assignment — and you have what it takes because God put it in you.
2. **Refuse to let fear define your limits.** Fear will always whisper "you can't," but faith answers back with "God says you can." Every time you doubt yourself, you are, in effect, doubting God. Becoming better at believing in yourself means learning to silence fear with faith. When fear says "what if I fail," faith says "what if I fly?"
3. **Align your confidence with the power of God.** Your confidence is not arrogance — it is God using you, teaching you, and grooming you for the place He wants you to go. When you believe His hand is on your life, you stop shrinking to fit people's opinions and start standing in divine authority. We stop saying "I can't" and start declaring "God can — through me."
God has never failed us yet, and He is not about to start. Write it down, say it out loud, memorize it until it becomes part of your DNA — believe in yourself, trust His promises, and walk fearlessly into everything He has called you to be.
